This #1 Utility - the CROMOCON USA, is trusted and researched since 2011, to solve questions on contrast safety for people with low vision in the built environment. Use it with an iPhone & iPad to assist everyone engaged in the worlds of manufacture, construction and designs, to check on contrast, accessibility and safety. All round the world, people are now using the CROMOCON LRV METER to provide the contrast data for the CROMOCON USA/WORLD APP.
CROMOCON is the worldwide leader in measuring Light Reflectance Values (LRV) of material surfaces and calculating easily the contrast required for safe visual accessibility, specifying contrast of most materials. LRV numbers run from 0% (Black) to 100% (White).
6 Reasons why you need the premium features of the CROMOCON USA software:
• Handy, simple and convenient
• Easy input of 4* data numbers
• Quick confident calculations for safety
• Infallible Pass/Fail function
• Fast suggestions on correct Data
• Accurate specifications for around 93% of people with vision impairment
Use the CROMOCON LRV METER* to provide the LRV measurement of material surfaces to use for the CROMOCON USA. The APP calculates from the data entered manually, whether something is going to be visible to 93% of visually impaired people. If the APP says NOT VISIBLE then the user can select from 4 different data numbers from SUGGESTIONS.
The software works by using 5* interdependent variables; the user enters 4 bits of data manually:
1 VISUAL ABILITY GROUPS - A fixed default of 93% of all visually impaired people (V4 – V9)* so no data is needed. Can recognize a friend if close to his/her face is V4, to V9 Can recognize a friend from across the road.
2 CONTRAST is the simple difference between two adjacent surface LRVs – One minus the other. Two LRV numbers difference are entered and give the result immediately. You can calculate with manufacturers published LRVs – e.g. Flooring LRV, Wall Paint etc.
3 LUX LEVEL is at a start-up useful default of 400 Lux (a fairly well lit room) but change data from a LUX METER if available.
4 DIMENSION can be entered; always the smallest dimension. If a column on a forecourt that would be the width/diameter not the height.
5 DISTANCE should be the furthest distance that the surface or object should be seen at, to check on visibility.
